A Counselling Journey…

We wish to acknowledge the courage it takes for someone to ask for help and make the decision to begin a process of therapy or counselling. We believe people are resilient and whole and they are much more than what has happened to them, even though people may not necessarily feel this way when they first start therapy. Our approach to the therapeutic process does not focus on a person’s “brokenness”, but rather, it explores areas that have been disconnected. When an individual, a couple or a family comes for therapeutic support, we will support them in re-connecting with their wholeness and what is important to them.

A counselling journey can help a person explore and heal their sacred life story in a meaningful and safe way, as well as supporting the development of self-awareness and skills to better cope with life’s challenges.   When requested, we offer the opportunity of connecting people to respected Elders and other Helpers, as well as integrating cultural practices, such as the utilizing of sacred medicines (such as tobacco, sweetgrass, sage, and cedar).  We respect people’s right to choose what best supports their healing process and determine their own path.

We support people in taking care of their inner fire so they can take the steps they need to be responsible for their personal change. When we develop a mental wellness plan together, this includes the physical, emotional, spiritual and mental aspects of self. The counselling journey can deeply explore how we are interconnected in order to help restore balance. It can be an opportunity to be honest with oneself and get support for what you wish to change, need to learn as well as connect with your gifts and strength.

Our Clinical Therapists assist individuals with grief/loss, anxiety, depression, addictions, historical trauma, and after-effects of physical, emotional, sexual and residential school abuse, low self-esteem, anger, and relationship problems.
