Mobile Health & Addictions Outreach Program
 
Hours of service: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm

The Mobile Health & Addictions Outreach Team’s primary focus is to assist and provide medical care to Aboriginal people who are at high risk of homelessness. Within the Wabano Centre’s cultural approach to health and wellness, the Outreach Team focuses on the traditional concept of holistic healing. This includes providing services that encourage healing involving the whole person: emotional, spiritual, mental, physical. We believe that our wide range of services demonstrates this philosophy.

Services offered:

· Mobile health services:
  -Treatment for common illnesses, diseases
   and injuries
  - Condom distribution
  - STD treatment, Hep C and Anonymous
    HIV testing
  - Clothing distribution
· Outreach services:
  -Personal support
  -Biindahgen Lunch drop-in at Sandyhill Community Health Centre:
     Fridays, 12:00pm-2:00pm
· Referrals to:
  -Housing   -Shelters
  -Food banks
  -Treatment centres
· Support Groups:
  -Relapse prevention
  -Pre-treatment care
  -Aftercare

· Traditional & cultural teachings and guidance
